Job Title: F/T Permanent Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias)
Location: Portadown
A locally homegrown business based in Portadown is seeking a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias. The successful candidate will enhance existing electrical engineering skills within the business, working to maintain safe and efficient plant and machinery and contributing to projects and continuous improvement.
Hours of Work:
Working 5 days out of 6, Monday - Saturday (Saturday working is on a rota basis - currently rotation of every other week).
Work pattern: 6.00 am - 3.00 pm OR 8.00 am - 5.00 pm (flexibility will be required due to the nature of the industry).
Duties:
1. Fault finding and resolution, preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
2. Installation of new equipment and machinery.
3. Sourcing parts at best value to meet business needs and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
4. Working closely with key stakeholders to support the operational implementation of new products and progress projects and engineering solutions.
5. Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, reviewing, developing and improving processes, plant and machinery to improve efficiency.
6. Training and developing others in electrical work, new equipment, machinery and processes as necessary.
7. Operating within Food Safety and Health and Safety standards in all aspects of the job role.
8. Use of maintenance software packages, signing off day-to-day jobs and maintenance sign off.
9. Assisting in stock takes.
10. Any other duties as may be required to ensure the smooth running of the factory.
Essential Criteria:
1. Hold a qualification in an electrical discipline e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
2. Have a minimum of 5 year's relevant electrical engineering experience.
3. Ideally experienced in FMCG or other fast-paced manufacturing environment.
4. Ability to read electrical drawings, diagnose and resolve electrical problems, and have a good working knowledge of PLC and industrial controls, drives, sensors, switches, robotics and automation.
5. Have computer skills.
6. Pro-active and take a practical approach to problem-solving and decision making.
7. Ability to work efficiently, effectively, accurately and on own initiative with minimum supervision as well as part of a team in a fast-paced working environment.
8. Professional manner, strong interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to build good rapport at all levels.
9. Flexible approach to working hours.
Salary:
£38,480 per annum
