Job Title: Property Inspector (Mechanical)
Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, seeks a highly skilled Property Inspector (Mechanical) for a 6-month contract. This role will be a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inspections of premises to determine work requirements, priorities, and costs, reporting to the Senior Inspector.
* Carry out written annual inspections of mechanical services for properties, providing recommendations and collaborating with team members for asset management strategies.
* Respond to emergency requests for necessary mechanical repair work and arrange remedial action to ensure safety.
* Issue detailed repair instructions to internal and external contractors, verify submitted invoices, and supervise the completion of repair work.
* Liaise with premise managers to translate requirements and discuss repair work, minor planned budgets, and other relevant issues affecting mechanical services.
* Have a working knowledge of energy management and plant control systems (BEMS) and conventional heat controls, identifying and reporting accordingly.
* Provide an electrical monitoring and inspection role on capital projects allocated to you.
* Take reasonable care for your own and others' health and safety, implementing and promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Essential Skills:
* Hold an appropriate construction/services related HNC or equivalent qualification.
* Possess at least 5 years' experience in the mechanical services industry within the commercial services sector, preferably with practical site experience.
* Be knowledgeable about current/relevant legislation and codes of practice.
* Have good communication and negotiating skills.
* Be mobile throughout the Council area.
* Hold Gas safe registration.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in contract management.
* Hold a current driving licence.
* Maintain membership of a relevant trade body.
* Have additional relevant training and experience.
* Be familiar with BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
* Be proficient in using IT software such as CAFM systems, maintenance works ordering, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
This role is based in Falkirk and requires the successful candidate to participate in a rotational standby scheme for out-of-hours emergencies and repairs.
