The role:
Leading a small team of specialists, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a variety of telephony solutions and audio-visual capability on a project and business as usual basis to all areas of the business utilising these services. The Unified Communications team are part of Technology Operations, whose main purpose is to ensure that throughout the group.
What you'll be doing:
* Leading a small team of specialists to ensure that appropriate coverage is provided to support our operational systems, that knowledge within the team is appropriate and kept up to date with new technologies and that the required service levels are met.
* To ensure all telephony services and audio-visual hardware remains operational and available.
* Develop, run and maintain telephony environments including infrastructure, software upgrades and integrations with other platforms.
* Deliver a high level of customer service by leading team workload, with focus on SLAs to ensure prompt incident resolution.
* Ensure technical and asset documentation is kept up to date and stored centrally.
* Lead large scale projects and contribute to multi-functional location-based projects.
* Lead, implement and support new audio-visual solutions. Ensuring usage documentation is clear and current.
* Keep up to date with emerging technologies and making recommendations for future direction and evolution of the UC strategy.
* Handling and maximising supplier relationships, including regular services & governance reviews.
* Management and development of the team to ensure they are up to date with technologies used, maintain customer focus and are proactive in the continuous improvement of support.
* Management reporting as required and deputising as required.
* Building and maintaining relationships with other areas of the business and external third parties (Service Providers & Suppliers).
* Providing occasional support for out of core hours’ maintenance.
* Ensure that business continuity plans for your team are up to date, tests for the plans and system disaster recovery tests are supported.
Who we're looking for:
Someone with a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and customer focus. The role requires strong knowledge of telephony & AV infrastructure along with the ability to lead projects, mentor a team, and work with multiple teams across the business. You will be able to communicate complex information in simple terms, have excellent written and verbal English skills, and enjoy finding solutions and being a supportive team member.
* Significant experience of telephony solutions and systems.
* Demonstrable experience of leading a team ideally in a Unified Communications, Telephony or AV environment.
* Knowledge of working in a service delivery environment i.e. handling IT Tickets, change requests, project delivery and working to SLA's or targets.
* Exposure in a Client facing support role, ensuring high quality customer service for telephony solutions or equivalent.
* Project management experience of leading telephony, AV or other UC related projects or initiatives.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. SharePoint, Outlook & Teams.
Special Requirements:
There will be some requirement for UK and potentially international travel. You must also be prepared for some out of office hours work as well as overnight stays on occasion.
