JobDescription:
Youmust have a driving licenseand to have held this for aminimum of1year.
Weoffer a 4-year Apprenticeship as an Engineering Technician whereyou will be supported to work alongside our Field Engineers tocarry out planned and unplanned maintenance, inspections,diagnostics and rebuilds on Caterpillarequipment.
You will attendtraining blocks at Finning’s Training Academy in Cannock throughoutyour apprenticeship to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, andbehaviours for your apprenticeship standard. These blocks can be1,2,4 or 6 weeks long. You will then apply those new knowledge andskills in your branch workplace. (All hotel/travel costs arecovered by Finning UK &I).
Apprenticeship durationcan be reduced for applicants with recognised prior learning in theindustry sector. This will be determined during the initialassessment process.

What you can expect:
Duringthe first two years of the apprenticeship, you will develop skillsin fundamentals, maintenance, and repair. The final two years willallow you to develop advanced diagnostic skills and repairtechniques to include but not limitedto:
Undertake, overhaul, repair, or refurbishmentwork on Caterpillar equipment
Carry out standarddiagnostic tests on Caterpillar components.
Carryout planned maintenance and generalrepairs.
Complete commercial assessments andfield inspections.
Check and record all parts andmaterials required for preparationwork.

Education:
England,Wales & NI applicants - GCSE’s or equivalent in English andMaths grades A-C or the numbered equivalent(9-4).
ROIapplicants – Hold qualifications in both English and Maths at IrishLeaving Certificate graded Ordinary 1 - 4 or graded higher 1 –7.
Scotlandapplicants - hold qualifications in both English and Maths atNational (N5) Grade 5 orabove.
Youmust be aged 16+ and have the right to live and work in the UK orIreland.
Youmust have a driving licenseand to have held this for aminimum of1year.
