Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Westbourne School, Sutton in Ashfield, NG17 2EL
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Westbourne School located in Sutton in Ashfield.
About the role
To provide a high-quality education support service to Service Users in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
Responsibilities
1. To support the class teacher/tutor in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality education for all students.
2. To ensure that all relevant education policies and procedures are implemented in full.
3. To provide relevant and appropriate support to students, individually or in groups, enabling them to access the curriculum as independently as possible.
4. To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational, and moral development of the students.
5. To ensure that available equipment and resources are used, stored, and maintained efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate staff.
6. To support the class teacher/tutor in organizing the classroom, its resources, student groupings, and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students with autistic spectrum disorder.
7. To assist in writing, updating, implementing, and evaluating documentation relating to individual students, including Behaviour Support Profile (BSP), Individual Risk Assessment, Individual Education Plan, Communication Profile, and Pastoral Support Plan as required.
8. To work collaboratively with the class teacher/tutor to ensure the safety of students in line with risk assessments, both on and off-site.
9. To produce appropriate and effective resources/teaching aids as requested by the class teacher/tutor.
10. To contribute as a member of the School’s multi-professional team, ensuring good working relationships with colleagues.

Westbourne School caters for pupils aged 11-18 and is growing to 85 pupils across two sites. You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum.
