Job Description
Petroleum Economist is seeking an experienced editor to join our business information publication. The Managing Editor is responsible for the creation or sourcing, editing, and publication of oil and gas content across various platforms. The Managing Editor will collaborate closely with the editorial team to ensure that our content aligns with our brand's standards and resonates with our target audience.
This is a hybrid position based in London, located at EC4Y 0AB, a successful candidate would need to be available in office 1-2 days per week.
Responsibilities
* Research and write regular analysis, features and other commentaries on the global oil and gas market.
* Commission, review and edit content. Collaborate with external contractors, freelancers, and subject matter experts to source high-quality coverage. Establish and manage relationships with content contributors to ensure consistency and quality.
* Assist in the development and execution of content strategies that support the company's goals and objectives, including special reports, sponsored content, digital coverage, webinars, podcasts and blog posts.
* Conduct research on industry trends, topics, and competitors to stay updated and contribute valuable insights to content planning.
* Attend industry conferences, seminars, and events to stay updated on industry trends, network with professionals, and represent the company. Provide reports and insights from these events to the organization's leadership team.
* Support and step in for the editor-in-chief where needed and come with ideas to develop the publication.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* 3+ years of professional writing experience for news media in a digital media or publishing environment, energy industry experience preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy while editing or proofreading.
* Proficiency in content management systems, digital publishing platforms and SEO best practices
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organizational and project management skills
