Carbon60 are currently recruiting for a Storeroom Services Technician to join our client's Storeroom Services team covering a nationwide customer base across the UK. Our client is a large engineering company with over 200 sites across the UK and Ireland and provides a wide range of engineering services.
This Storeroom Services Technician role is available on a 12-week temporary to permanent basis, the working hours Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, 40 hours/week, on-site, travelling between 7am - 6pm. Should you be successful in your probation period of the temporary contract, you will be offered a permanent position.
There is a lot of travelling involved across the UK in this role that could result in time spent away from home during the working week. Our client's Storeroom Services team are project-based and will travel to any UK location dependent on the work required. All travelling will be done from Monday morning and you can return home Friday afternoon, but requirements could mean that you spend Monday - Friday working away from home. You will be expected to travel between 7am - 6pm Monday - Friday.
You will be providing on-site support to our client's team to help meet project requirements. You will be responsible for stock-related responsibilities in the stores area on sites, cataloguing and verifying engineering components on Excel, setting up and organising stores racking, organising stores areas to a suitable standard, following the direction of the assigned Project Manager.
Stores or warehouse experience is not essential for this role, but a competent level of IT literacy to be trained to use in-house cataloguing systems on-site is required. Competent use of basic MS Excel is needed. Good communication skills to work within this project-based team is required also.
An active full UK driving licence is essential for any applicants to progress.
About The Role:
Main duties & responsibilities:
You will be travelling across the UK, nationwide, dependent on client project requirements and could be working away from home from Monday morning up to Friday afternoon.
Once at your on-site location you will be responsible for:
Setting up and organising Stores Departments on site under the supervision of the Project Manager
Cataloguing manufacturers parts, include technical wording on documentation
Logging and verifying manufacturer's products
Create and update data files on Microsoft Excel
Setting out and installing bins on racking
Refurbishing existing Stores Departments
About You -
Relevant skills / experience / qualifications:
An active full UK driving licence is essential
Given the extensive travel requirements and need for working away from home, you must be comfortable and flexible to meet the demands of the position between the hours of 7am - 6pm Monday - Friday
Competent with Microsoft Excel and utilising basic skills such as data entry and using basic formulas, with the ability to perform VLOOKUP's and use simple conditional formatting processes
This is a physically demanding role with the laborious manual activity required on-site
Good communication skills to work within this project-based team is required
Prior stores / warehouse / forklift experience is desirable but not essential -Training can be provided on the technical engineering aspects of this role
