The Role
:
As a Senior Ecological Consultant, you will provide specialist ecological input on various projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct habitat and protected species surveys according to current industry guidelines and best practices.
2. Prepare comprehensive reports, including technical contributions to EIA documents, Habitat Regulations Assessments, and engagement with stakeholders.
3. Develop fee proposals, especially for larger, multidisciplinary projects with complex scopes of work.
4. Manage projects, including delegation, supervision, and mentoring of consultants, assistants, and graduates as necessary.
5. Ensure quality control of documents prepared by other team members or as directed by the line/project manager.
6. Provide line management to consultants, assistants, and graduates within the team.
Requirements:
7. Previously worked as an Ecological Consultant or in a similar role.
8. Have experience as a named ecologist or accredited agent within a species mitigation licence.
9. Strong background in ecological consulting.
10. Hold a degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
11. Knowledge of land management and environmental net gain.
12. Hold a CIEEM membership.
13. Possess at least one protected species licence.
14. Passion for protecting and enhancing the planet.
15. Full UK driving licence.
