We are delighted to offer one 24 hour Night post and one 24 hour Day post, the posts will consist of working 2 x 12 hour shifts pro rata.
The roles will be to support the Trust with its provision of Security within Sheffield Children's Hospital to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Main duties of the job
All work must be carried out in line with the Health and Safety, Security and all Trust Policies and Procedures.
You will be flexible, able to work as part of a team and able to interact with patients, staff and visitors in a pleasant and co-operative manner. The security team will ensure the safety of patients and staff within the hospital/on ward areas by providing support to nursing teams.
* Maintaining a highly visible deterrent by presence and the patrolling of hospital site.
* Provide a first line response to violent and aggressive persons within the hospital and where necessary restraining and escorting persons from site to maintain a safe environment within the hospital.
* To provide early indications of unwanted activity around the site from the observation of the CCTV system and liaising with staff and police on viewing as required.
* To assist with any security emergency.
* Litter removal from the main entrance.
* To ensure that the correct documentation is filled in after every incident and passed to management.
* To provide support to ward staff and patients with physical and mental health needs, providing prolonged cover when requested by senior site manager/security manager or charge hand porter.
* To provide support in safe holding of patients when required, mandatory duties such as waste removal, laundry delivery, food delivery and support the post room operative.
