Main duties of the job
To monitor and co-ordinate the care of clients on anti-dementia medication, manage a caseload of clients referred to the memory services, collect and analyze data, and produce timely reports. Act as a specialist resource for those coping with a diagnosis of dementia and work with other team members to provide the best possible care and support systems for both users and carers of dementia services locally. Additionally, support group sessions CST and liaise with other services where joint working is required. You will also be involved in delivering diagnoses to patients on your caseload.

Person Specification
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
* Relevant Mental health professional qualification (RMN) NMC, ENB 998 or equivalent
* Degree in a health-related subject
* Registered Nurse Prescriber
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
* Post-qualifying experience within the specialty at Band 5 or above, including teaching/training, basic counselling skills, and experience with standard setting and appraisal systems.
* Experience of organic mental illness
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff. Implement new ideas and develop services
* Able to plan, implement, and evaluate across a range of areas as required
* Knowledge of clinical and managerial issues relating to mental health, older people's services, and NHS developments
* Knowledge of and experience working with the Mental Health and Mental Capacity Act, Clinical Governance, CPA, SAP, etc.
* Ability to manage and 'hold' difficult situations and cope with stress
* Able to manage resources effectively
* Ability to delegate appropriately and effectively
* Some knowledge of and familiarity with research methods and their application to practice
