Main duties of the job
The key elements of this post are:
* The post holder will support the delivery of safe and effective patient services by facilitating the provision of the most recent clinically effective researched based, cost effective tissue viability advice to trust staff and primary care for complex cases.
* A key aspect of the role will be monitoring the effectiveness of tissue viability interventions, providing specialist advice on best practice relating to all aspects of Tissue Viability in line with both local and national guidance to all staff, patients and carers.
* Specific focus will be on pressure ulcer prevention and management; care planning and staff support will be part of the role.
* To identify training needs and provide training in chronic wound management.
* To maintain close links with relevant services in primary and secondary care settings to ensure clients receive a seamless service.
* A collaborative approach is essential working within the multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient-focused care.
The post holder should demonstrate an awareness of local and national nursing agendas.

Person specification
Education/ Qualifications
* First level registration and/or relevant nursing Degree
* Post registration qualification in wound care, tissue viability or leg ulcer management or willing to complete once in post and/or evidence of developing special interest in the field of tissue viability
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* At least 3 years post registration experience
* Provide evidence of ongoing personal and professional development
* Comprehensive wound assessment & management skills
* Understanding of the audit process and experience of undertaking audits including research-based practice
* Experience of working in Acute and Primary care settings

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
