We are looking for an experienced safeguarding children specialist to undertake the role of Head of Safeguarding Children/Named Nurse for Epsom & St Helier Hospital Trust, on a secondment/fixed term basis for one year.
The post holder will provide highly visible leadership and expertise in safeguarding children and will work with the wider safeguarding leadership team ensuring that the organisation meets its statutory responsibilities regarding children and young people. We are looking for someone with sound operational safeguarding and team management experience and the ability to form positive relationships across the wider Group and partner organisations.
Operational and clinical leadership of the child safeguarding team. Provide a role model for all nurses and midwives by practising safeguarding to thehighest standard, whilst exercising a high degree of personal and professionalautonomy
Provide formal, regular and structured safeguarding supervision to more juniormembers ofthesafeguarding teaminline withSGHSupervision policy
Adviseonclinicalpracticein complexcases
Contribute to reviews of inter-agency safeguarding procedures, drawing on advance knowledge
Ensure robust system, policies, professional guidance and training programmes arein place across the group so that staff are able to identify children at risk at an early stage, contributeto safeguarding them from harm and assist in the provision of effective care forchildrenandtheirfamilies whereabuse hasoccurred
