Summary As the public face of our property, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit. What it's like to work here Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of a small team of 5 staff working at Sutton House. In addition to the Welcome Team your colleagues will include the House & Gardens Manager, Senior Programming & Partnerships Officer, and Collections & House Officer, plus a dedicated team of volunteers working across departments. Sutton House is the oldest house in East London, and its history reflects the changing conditions of Hackney, from a village in the 16th century, to an inner London borough in the 21st. A short walk from Hackney Central station, Sutton House today provides space for the local community, in addition to a busy visitor operation on Fridays and Sundays. What you'll be doing Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors, community partners and volunteers have the best experience they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the property's operation, from welcoming visitors, leading guided tours, working on events, social media promotion, working with volunteers, compliance checks around the site and supporting the team - no two days are the same.
