The postholder will provide specialist technical services to support research and teaching projects of the laboratory headed by Dr Bettina Schock. The laboratory aims to understand the pathology of pulmonary fibrosis employing a multidisciplinary approach bridging innovative cell models, immunology and cell biology. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate, that you meet the following criteria: We are looking for an experienced research technician with 3 years of relevant work experience (hands-on) in molecular biology techniques and tissue culture to undertake the investigation of epithelial cells and fibroblasts from patients with pulmonary fibrosis in response to drug treatment. You will hold academic and/or vocational qualifications e.g., 2 A levels, OND/ONC City & Guilds level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalents in relevant subject. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant systems, equipment and processes, relevant regulations and procedures, laboratory management skills is essential. You must be able to work independently, but teamwork and good communications skills are required. You should be able to work after hours if required.
