The Medical Education Co-Ordinator (MEC) reports to the Medical Education and Staffing Manager (Medical Education and Staffing Manager). The MEC will be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering the work carried out by the Medical Education Department in relation to Medical Students and Physician Associate Students. This will involve working closely with the Medical Education and Staffing Manager, the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, the Nurse Educator and other educational leads to ensure that all obligations in the Learning and Development Agreement, contracts with Universities and Health Education England and other service level agreements are delivered as required., Working with the Medical Education and Staffing Manager, the MEC will be responsible for coordinating the delivery, evaluation and quality assurance of professional teaching activity, training programmes, induction and skills training for student Physician Associates and undergraduate medical students.
The post involves working closely with very senior managers, and clinicians both inside and outside the Trust. The MEC will be expected to take responsibility for the delivery of all requirements in agreed parts of the teaching programmes and supervise the work of Medical Education Administrators to ensure these are delivered.
