The Vacancy
Job Purpose:
To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in an efficient and cost-effective manner whilst in compliance with the Company Health and Safety policy.
* Although not an exhaustive list, this is likely to include wood-working machinery, PLC, HVAC systems, compactors, lighting and other static and portable electrical equipment, systems and circuitry.
Key Accountabilities:
* Representing the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
* To collate and complete the PPM schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
* To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
* To identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Facilities Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
* To advise the Facilities Manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
* To manage the attendance of any subcontractors if required in line with the Facilities Manager request and company process.
* To carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Facilities Manager.
* To carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
* To maintain accurate Time Sheets and Mileage Logs as required.
* To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
* To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
* To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the Line Manager.
* Ensuring company vehicle (where provided) is kept clean, well maintained and serviced as required.
Knowledge, Skills + Abilities:
* NVQ Level 3 AM2 18th edition
* City & Guilds 2330 (Installing Electrical systems & equipment) or equivalent.
* City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection)
* ECS Skill card – Electrician grade
* BS7671 2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations (IIE Wiring Regs 17th Edition)
* Previous exposure to operating within an industrial electrical environment
* Flexible approach to working hours.
* Full (UK) drivers licence.
