An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Endoscopy Department.
Although this is a full-time position, part-time hours will be considered.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Endoscopy nurse with relevant team leader experience.
The post holder will support the smooth running of the department, undertaking tasks such as coordinating inpatient and outpatient flow, supporting staffing management, and other junior management tasks.
The successful applicant will be trained in Endoscopy-related information, HR tasks, audit work, and other skills necessary for efficient unit operation.

Main duties of the job
* Be an excellent role model within the Endoscopy Unit to drive quality, work within the team, and lead when necessary. To be directly responsible to the senior team.
* Experience in HR responsibilities such as sickness, absence management, and recruitment.
* Training and knowledge sharing with new, junior, and student staff.
* Audit responsibilities to contribute to JAG accreditation.
* Staff rostering and resource management of equipment and consumables.
* Participation in service improvement and development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Deputise for the Ward Manager, liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient care delivery.
Communicate proactively about patient conditions and treatment plans, ensuring accurate records.
Lead and support discharge processes, involving relatives and carers.
Ensure effective communication within the team and with patients and relatives.
Maintain policies for professional, clinical, and patient safety.
Apply infection control principles, plan duty rotas, initiate emergency treatments, and ensure staff are trained in emergency procedures.
Lead in patient care assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation, ensuring high standards of nursing care.
Involve patients and relatives in treatment decisions and recovery processes.
Manage medication and controlled drugs safely.
Provide clinical advice, participate in staff training, and support education and development.
Lead and coordinate staffing, support recruitment, and ensure mandatory training is completed.
Represent the team at professional meetings, participate in audits, and contribute to discharge planning.
Maintain a safe environment, support resource management, and ensure compliance with policies.
Support investigations, audits, and external inspections, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Person specification
Qualifications
* NMC registration
* Evidence of recent professional development relevant to the department
Experience
* Post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting
* Current endoscopy experience, including assisting with therapeutic interventions (Polypectomy, ERCP, Dilatation, Nurse Led Consenting)
* Experience managing a team and staff performance
Skills
* Competent in medicine management
* Venepuncture and Cannulation or working towards it
Appropriate UK professional registration is required.
