Role Purpose: An exciting opportunity to gain experience though an industrial placement for 12 months with an established, expanding electro-optics specialist with a global footprint. We are seeking to offer the opportunity for a 12-month engineering placement within the Naval Systems team, based in the Plymouth office, with exposure to mechanical, electrical and software disciplines, bringing the solution together through effective systems engineering and integration. Key Responsibilities: Be a part of the core System team that lead the technical aspects of Naval projects. Work with Software, Mechanical/Electrical and Electronics engineers as part of a team to ensure project success. Be involved with system integration and testing activities on new systems. Help diagnose software, electrical and mechanical faults found on the systems and provide input into the solution. Assess the customer's technical requirements and incorporate this information into the wider project specifications. Produce a range of documentation including but not limited to test procedures, verification matrices and technical reports. Assist with integration, commissioning, and problem-solving activities, which on occasions will be on-site at the customer’s premises. Work with the Project Manager, Technical Authority and Quality team as required to identify risks, issues, solutions, and opportunities. Skills & Experience Essential Applicants must be studying a degree in a related discipline E.g. Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Integrated Mechanical / Electrical, Robotics, General Engineering Applicates must have experience in problem solving engineering issues. Applicates must have experience with Word and Excel. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and maintain an enthusiastic attitude to work. Applicates should have experience in electrical and/or mechanical and/or software design.
