An overview of the role:
You will work on high profile, impactful projects which will help our clients successfully deliver scalable energy, utility and transport infrastructure programmes that will help the UK transition to a low carbon, sustainable future. Our consultants bring Asset Intensive Industry experience, strong business improvement skillsets. They understand of how effective use of digitisation in Capital Project delivery and asset management processes can be used to reduce total cost of ownership for mega projects, transform ongoing operations and maintenance and deliver value to stakeholders.
We work collaboratively with clients at all levels of an organisation and across all stages of the asset lifecycle to help them define the key foundations and capabilities to set up their capital project and asset operations for success. Starting with the end in mind, we blend deep industry insight with the use of emerging technologies and techniques to help our clients create a digitally enabled workforces and more integrated ways of working. We move from ‘idea to action’ quickly and build confidence along the digital journey to help our clients successfully deliver and maintain critical infrastructure.
Our clients include some of the largest asset intensive organisations in the Energy, Utility and Transport Sectors, who own and operate vast asset portfolios globally. We help them to reduce their total cost of ownership and improve their asset availability, through the use of digital enablers and operations improvements.

You’ll potentially work on a huge variety of projects (some larger than others), so you could gain lots of experience in a short amount of time.
Why this role?
Using your extensive industry knowledge and experience of delivering significant transformation initiatives, you will work with our clients to identify, shape and deliver significant digital transformation programmes. You will take on leadership roles drawing together teams of talented professionals from across Capgemini’s business units to develop and realise solutions which digitise and optimise processes across the value chain, from engineering design through to successful commissioning and handover to asset operations. You will take on overall responsibility for our teams and for helping clients to successfully implement new capabilities and transform their operations. Key aspects of the role will include
1. Using your industry networks and experience to identify, shape and deliver commercially attractive deals
2. Take on overall responsibility for delivering successful business transformation projects
3. Developing Capgemini’s profile in target sectors through developing thought leading points of view on how digitisation can transform operations and deliver significant value
4. Supporting and guiding our clients in the development of their asset management strategies, implementation roadmaps and supporting investment cases.
5. Defining future business and organisation models for asset intensive organisations whilst also developing an integrated view of the people, technology and information impacts of enabling these models
6. Directing and mentoring the development of Digital Asset Management skills by Capgemini personnel, take overall ownership for the developing staff and ensuring that they maintain industry relevant skills.
7. Responsible for Asset Investment Planning project execution with policy design for maintenance, repair and replacement
8. Building and maintaining relationships with current and new clients.
We’d love to meet someone with:
9. A successful track record of identifying opportunities, developing, shaping and delivering business transformation projects.
10. Experience of working in consultancy and a strong understanding and experience in asset and material management.
11. Experience of working within asset intensive organisations (ideally energy, utilities or transportation) and in the asset management space.
12. Understand industry best practices together with their application and use this to support clients in the optimisation of construction and operational asset management programmes.
13. Significant experience of digital transformation programme design and delivery.
14. Good practical knowledge and experience of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), digital twin, connected assets, cloud solutions, data analytics, automation and control and how these concepts can be used to transform business operations.
15. Significant experience of digital asset management software systems and an understanding of their current development trends, Systems of particular interest to us include SAP PM/MM, Maximo, OSI PI, Aspen, PTC, Primavera, Prometheus, GE Predix, Bentley, NRX Asset Hub etc, Working with next generation solutions bespoke build, leveraging Iot data.
16. Sound knowledge of Asset Management Lifecycle, Asset management information, Turnaround Management, Work Planning and Execution as well as Reliability Engineering, Programme and Project Management skills.
17. Good familiarity with international Asset Management Standards
18. Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
19. Experience of proposition building and delivery.
20. Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c .£2m of consulting revenues.
