Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Staff Administrator to support the General Intensive Care & Surgical HDU teams within Critical Care at University Hospital Southampton. This role will provide GICU and SHDU with administration support for the consultant team and resident medical staff.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Critical Care teams of GICU and SHDU including Matron/Clinical Lead, Consultant/senior nursing staff and junior medical staff.
1. Ensure all relevant Medical eRosters are maintained correctly and submitted in a timely manner for payroll for additional payments including db rotas and Healthroster.
2. Ensure the correct allocation of Consultants/Doctors annual leave and update calendar and rotas accordingly.
3. Support Care Group medical recruitment.
4. Provide support for Care Group medical staffing projects.
Person specification
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
1. Level 4 Diploma or equivalent experience
2. Knowledge across a range of administrative work procedures including non-routine elements
3. Detailed knowledge of admin procedures and working processes
4. Significant experience as a secretary or administrative assistant in a customer-focused environment
5. Experience of complex staff rosters
6. A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
Desirable criteria
1. Previous experience of working within the NHS
2. Proficient in the use of all hospital computerised IT systems relevant to the role (Healthroster, ESR, TRAC, eRota)
3. Experience of recruitment.
