Job overview
The post holder would be expected to provide anaesthetic services and specialist skills to patients requiring anaesthesia, respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and/or other emergency, life-sustaining services within anaesthesia and the wider theatre and critical care environments.
You will be appointed to the Northern Care Alliance which encompasses Salford, Bury, Rochdale, and Oldham Care Organisations.
When working at Rochdale, AAs would primarily undertake 2:1 lists across a range of specialities including but not limited to general, gynaecology, urology, and orthopaedics. Lists at Oldham and Salford will support trauma and emergency services as well as elective work. There is an established team of 7 AAs based at Salford Care Org, who would be able to support and mentor new colleagues.
Salford and Oldham theatres will provide exposure to a wide range of acute surgical patients, where AAs perform a valuable role in maintaining safety and efficiency. Bury is our main elective orthopaedic site. There will be an expectation to work across more than one site, discussed and agreed on appointment.
The qualified AAs would be expected to support and inform the training of trainee AAs and act as role models. This role modelling will include embedding a new AA team, demonstrating the capabilities of AAs, with the support of senior AAs and anaesthetists.
