Trainee Installation Engineer
Role Purpose
This is an exciting new role for a Trainee Installation Engineer of UPVC & Aluminium Window, Door and Secondary window products in the sustainable sector. You will work with the lead installer ensuring each installation is installed to the highest standard and completed Right First Time. You will demonstrate good technical knowledge and customer skills and must be assist in surveying jobs that you will install as part of the role. You will have use of a company van and be issued a uniform.

Key Accountabilities & Activities:
1. To work as a team to execute domestic installations from start to finish
2. Take pride in your own work and always support the company’s brand image
3. To always ensure a high standard of workmanship
4. To assist in installation issues to resolution
5. To manage van stock materials in an economical manner
6. To assist with capturing survey information required to order products for manufacture
7. To work as part of a wider team with office and field staff
8. To support the wider business where required on glazing, window and door works
9. To manage and fulfil all workmanship and product-related issues on installations
10. To demonstrate excellent customer skills
11. To assist with admin and compliance duties within company timelines
12. To ensure maintenance of FCA & PRA compliance
13. To work on internal Service Level Agreements and Team targets
14. To keep in line with the company Right First Time and Continuous Improvement initiatives
15. To always comply with Health & Safety requirements
Experience and Personal Attributes
Essential:
16. Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a secondary installer or trainee Installer in the domestic Home Improvements sector
17. Experience in the removal and installation of casement windows, Vertical sash windows, composite doors, bifold doors, UPVC & aluminium single and double doors, patio doors and secondary windows
18. Experience in finishing of structural bay windows
19. Experience in the survey of window and door products
20. Must be an excellent face-to-face communicator
21. Must be able to demonstrate good customer skills
22. Ability to work on your own initiative and as a team player
23. Self-driven
24. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance
25. Reliable, polite, tolerable, and determined
Desirable:
26. Previous experience of a large national installation company (Anglian, Everest, First Home improvements, SafeStyle etc.)
27. Conservatory installation/surveying experience
28. Ability to perform UPVC repairs
29. Full UK/EU driving licence
30. NVQ level 2 or higher in fenestration installation or valid MTC card

37. A full UK driver’s licence and the ability to travel nationally where required.
38. The flexibility for some overnight stays as and when required.
