This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful Christian school staff team. The King’s School has operated for over 40 years providing high quality Early Years, Primary and Secondary education. Currently, the roll is 217 pupils.
We are recruiting for a Head of Art and Design. This post is for 20 hours per week (0.5), which will be flexible, but ideally will be spread across three days. You will be expected to teach Art and Design to pupils at both KS3 and KS4 level. You will also be expected to lead the Art department, collaborating with our current KS3 teacher to develop and implement an engaging and challenging curriculum that aligns with national standards and reflects the school’s Christian ethos. Furthermore, you should be prepared to contribute your creative thinking and/or skills to other areas of the curriculum (e.g., design projects and set design).
The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner, flexible, and servant-hearted. They will be able to build upon the successes of the past, maintaining the distinctive quality and tone of the school, and will be able to work as part of a strong staff team in line with the vision of Oxfordshire Community Churches. It is therefore a genuine and determining occupational requirement that the job-holder must be a committed Christian willing to work with others in the context of OCC’s ethos statement.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
If you have a disability and require any reasonable adjustments that will enable you to apply for this position, then please let us know.
