North Tyneside Recovery Partnership provides support to those living within the North Tyneside area where drug and/or alcohol use is becoming a problem. The service is provided by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Trust in partnership with Waythrough from 1st April 2025.
The Assessment and Engagement Worker will be based in Wallsend and will be a first point of contact for people entering the treatment service. They will complete comprehensive assessments, manage queries, and respond to service users presenting to the service in the absence of their allocated worker. In addition to this, the Assessment & Engagement workers will manage a small caseload of service users and deliver Extended Brief Interventions, a short-term structured programme of Psychosocial interventions aimed at influencing behaviour change in service users who are using drugs or alcohol in a binge pattern.
Successful candidates will have relevant experience of supporting those with drug and/or alcohol issues as well as an excellent working knowledge of delivering psychosocial interventions. Candidates should be highly organised and have an excellent knowledge of identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns.
