Our Specialist Technologies facility in Hereford is seeking to recruit a Process Operator. The role is varied across multiple operations and requires diligence, accuracy and an ability to work flexibly within a team environment. Reliability, a positive attitude to learning new skills, a commitment to work safely and an ability to communicate effectively are paramount. Full training will be provided.
Main responsibilities:
Health, Safety and Environmental:
1. Ensure all health, safety and environmental requirements are met
2. Complete daily check lists
3. Ensure high standard of housekeeping
4. Ensure compliance to safe working practices
5. Report any accidents or dangerous occurrences
Quality:
1. Follow process instructions accurately
2. Record process details as required
3. Identify and report deviations from process parameters
4. Ensure all relevant paperwork is available for product leaving site
5. Ensure material is identified correctly on the shop floor
Production:
1. Machine setting and operation as required
2. Initiate escalation procedures in case of delays or problems
3. Organise and plan efficient loading and unloading of equipment
4. Ensure site is kept secure at all times
5. Advise on deficiencies in consumables and tooling
6. Work effectively within and across crews to deliver excellent customer service
Maintenance:
1. Support preventative maintenance activities
2. Ensure delay records are kept up to date
3. Report deficiencies/faults in equipment performance
General:
1. Advise management of any problems or opportunities as they arise
2. Any other duties required for the effective running of the plant
Qualifications, experience and skills:
1. Good general education, with strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills
2. Diligent, methodical and accurate with high attention to detail
3. Effective communication skills and an ability to work well within small teams
4. Ability to reliably interact and work safely with complex electro-mechanical systems
5. Experience in industrial environments and the use of fork lifts and overhead cranes is desirable (full training will be provided)
