The Role - Level 3 Teaching Assistant and ELSA (Job vacancy reference HVT 0627)
We are looking for a hardworking, passionate, creative Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is organised, self‑motivated and confident, as well as being a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
You will deliver pre-set learning activities in the absence of a teacher, managing the behaviour of pupils whilst you are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment. You will need to support the development of pupils’ emotional literacy and social skills through specific and targeted intervention.
You will support pupils’ academic and social communication needs (ELSA) (linked to diagnosis) and to support positive social and emotional well-being, enabling them to engage in learning in and out of the school environment.
You will be appointed on Grade 5, working 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year on a fixed term contract. Your working pattern will be discussed at the interview stage.
Your actual salary range will be £19,398 to £20,676 per annum (pay award pending).
You will:
* Have CACHE Level 3 in Teaching and Learning to the equivalent or relevant.
* Emotional Literacy Support Assistant Experience.
* Experience of working with SEND/EHCP Pupils.
* Be an effective practitioner with the ability and desire to improve their practice.
* Have high expectations of yourself and others.
* Have a proven record of working in partnership with class teachers which has resulted in good attainment and progress for children.
* Have experience of working with pupils on a 1:1 basis.
* Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Be highly organised, motivated and flexible with the ability to inspire and challenge children.
* Be able to promote the vision and values of the school, demonstrating high professional standards.
