£13.15ph
Monday to Sunday between 7am and 8pm (Various shift patterns available)

Working in our UK support functions, you’ll play a key part in helping our customer-facing colleagues deliver exceptional standards of customer service and patient care. As a Portering Services Officer, you’ll respond to all portering requests to support the hospital’s operational functions. You will also interact with patients, consultants, staff, and visitors with the utmost professionalism, embedding a world-class service.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
* Presenting yourself for duty in a timely manner, dressed and equipped to maintain and always display the highest professional standards.
* Professionally undertaking patient transfers and movements, via wheelchair, trolley, and bed when required.
* Carrying out regular and documented cleaning and maintenance of department equipment used, including wheelchairs and trolleys.
* Performing the change of all medical gases as required and storing empty cylinders in the appropriate area while keeping the cylinder log updated.
* Delivering and collecting internal post and small deliveries to and from the Hospital to the offices based on High Street Kensington during working hours, as per business requirements.
* Promoting, supporting, and encouraging the seamless flow of information both to and from the portering team and the wider hospital.
* Investigating any patient complaints relating to the provision of portering services.
* Carrying out ‘ad hoc’ duties as requested by the Lead Porter or other senior staff, such as moving medical/hospital equipment, furniture, and boxes with general office content.
* Being flexible to work varying schedules, involving a combination of daytime, evening/night-time, weekend, and Bank Holiday working to deliver consistent standards of service at all times.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
* Porter experience in a Hospital or Hotel setting
* Assertiveness and ability to deal with conflict
* Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
* Excellent telephone manner
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Able to work on own initiative, prioritise work, and meet deadlines
* Good timekeeping
* Experience of delivering customer services to an exceptionally high standard
* Able to empathise with patients and demonstrate genuine care
