Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Site Engineer in the Food Production Industry!
Our client, a leading organisation in the food production industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your expertise and play a vital role in maintaining the high-performance standards of their site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor equipment and plant performance, following maintenance plans and carrying out routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
2. Provide reactive maintenance support, ensuring compliance with site audited standards, including BRC.
3. Perform engineering corrective actions to ensure the safe production of high-quality products.
4. Maintain effective communication with operators in all departments to address any potential maintenance issues promptly.
5. Report any conditions that may impact finished product quality during equipment inspection or maintenance work.
6. Identify and implement plans to eliminate inefficiencies and unnecessary losses.
7. Assist in setting up new products and processes in collaboration with the NPD and Production teams.
8. Manage stock of spare parts and coordinate with suppliers for reordering.
9. Negotiate service contract terms for key site equipment.
10. Arrange planned visits for non-contractual equipment with service engineers.
11. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure safe and high-quality work completion.
12. Champion a safe working culture and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
Operational Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and meet insurance requirements, including Lola testing, fire equipment, and maintenance records.
2. Carry out regular water sampling tests as per technical department requirements.
3. Ensure proper maintenance of boilers, standby generators, irrigation plant, packing machinery, and refrigerated units.
4. Conduct site repairs to the highest standard, ensuring a well-maintained appearance.
5. Support steam sterilisation of crates and pallets and equipment maintenance.
6. Manage site ground works, weed control, drainage, and services.
7. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and planned overtime.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Mechanical background with experience in irrigation, pumps or packing machines.
2. Familiarity with 18th edition regulations, and completed a recent 18th Edition course.
3. Strong problem-solving skills.
4. Detailed knowledge of manufacturing equipment and/or processes and of the safety requirements in the maintenance & repair of the equipment.
5. Knowledge of safe working practices.
6. Knowledge of equipment and processes within the food production environment.
7. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
8. Diagnostics and repair abilities of various electrical and automation systems.
9. Experience using a Maintenance ERP system.
