Interim Regulatory Compliance – Legal Counsel
Our client a global platform specialising within the travel space is currently looking for a Legal Counsel with specific experience in Regulatory Compliance ideally gained within a consumer sector as opposed to purely financial services.
This opportunity is for a period of six months, 4 days per week and will be predominantly remote working.
The purpose of the role will be to provide regulatory advice on day-to-day matters and escalations related to emerging regulations affecting their supply chain. The successful candidate will focus on liaising with business stakeholders for the interpretation, implementation, and monitoring of regulatory obligations applicable to their supply partners, including the Digital Services Act.
Role Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement:
* Provide legal guidance on regulatory obligations for the company’s supply partners
* Act as the primary escalation point for business stakeholders to implement partner-facing obligations under the Digital Services Act and other regulations
* Review and advise on all external partner-facing communications related to supply compliance
Process Improvement & Compliance Program Management:
* Manage improvements to compliance processes, escalations, and partner complaints
* Work with internal teams to drive the organisation’s regulatory compliance program
* Oversee verification services provided by third-party vendors
Monitoring & Reporting:
* Track and report on key legal decisions and advice related to regulatory compliance
* Support cross-program dependencies, ensuring regulatory compliance is embedded in partner-facing product launches, updates, and initiatives
Requirements:
* At least 3 years of experience as a lawyer – preferably with experience in both top law firms and in-house environments.
* Strong expertise in emerging regulations, including advising on and implementing them.
* Experience with digital platform regulations, particularly the Digital Services Act.
* Ability to provide practical, strategic, and business-oriented legal advice.
* Proven experience in managing internal stakeholders at all levels and working with cross-functional teams to develop solutions to complex legal and business issues.
* Strong time management skills – the ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks effectively.
* Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear and simple advice for non-legal colleagues.
* Independent and autonomous worker, while also being a strong team player.
