Employment Advisor Looking for a new challenge in a more tailored service? Or a recruiter looking to get off the hamster wheel? Maybe you work in Mental Health support and fancy a change?
This charity offers IPS employment support, and if you’re new to the model, don’t worry—they’ll teach you everything you need to know. People tend to stick around here because it’s a great place to work (they’re part of the Manchester Good Employment Charter). Plus, there are plenty of chances to grow, with staff often moving into roles in other parts of the charity, like their college or supported internship programmes.
So, what’s the job?
* You’ll be working with a caseload of around 20 job seekers. These clients will have recently come out of hospital and have suffered intense mental health support challanges, so they’re early in recovery but ready to start thinking about work again.
* You’ll be working alongside a clinical team who’ll be providing support to the client too, so you’re part of a bigger team working towards the same goal.
* The role is a mix of office and community-based work. So, you’ll be in the charity’s local office, an NHS setting, or out in the community meeting your clients.
* A typical week will see you spending about three days doing one-to-one sessions, helping clients with things like CVs, job searches, interview prep, and finding the right type of employers for them.
* The other two days will focus on employer engagement—reaching out to local employers, discussing opportunities, and seeing how your clients can be a good fit (and making sure employers know what your clients might need). You’ll be expected to meet with employers regularly.
Who we’re looking for:
To apply, you’ll need to have experience in employment support, careers advice, or recruitment. Maybe you’ve worked as a recruitment consultant, employment advisor, job coach, or careers advisor. If you’ve worked in sales and have some experience in mental health or support work, that could also be a great fit.
Please apply via this advert—we aim to get back to everyone. If you don’t hear from us within 72 hours or there’s any delay, please fill in the ‘Send Us A Message’ form on the Red 5 People website, and a real person will get back to you. Alternatively, feel free to call the office and ask for James, who’s heading this one up.
We have 2 roles, one in Stockport, and one in Tameside.
