Supporting the Faculty's dual objectives of being a national research funder of personal awards and providing high quality, needs led career development support for health and care researchers in Wales, the Researcher Development Advisors play an integral role in delivering these responsibilities within the Faculty. The successful candidates will demonstrate a well-established research career having successfully led research bids, have in-depth knowledge of research funder requirements and processes and hold a proven track record in supporting and developing early career researchers. The Faculty are looking to appoint a maximum of 3 roles to job share up to 1.2wte on a secondment or fixed term basis for 2 years starting in April 2025. Appointments will be made to ensure adequate service provision to both health and social care researchers and therefore a minimum of 0.4wte will be dedicated to appointing a Researcher Development Advisor with social care research expertise. Each role will be expected to work a minimum of 0.4wte (2 days per week). Main duties of the job The Faculty Researcher Development Advisor(s) will develop and deliver high quality applied health and social care researcher developmental approaches for Health and Care Research Wales Faculty Members that enables members to:- Develop high quality competitive funding applications for submission to UK wide national peer reviewed funding programmes.- Deliver funded high quality impactful health and social care research for the benefit of people in Wales and beyond.- Progress their research knowledge, skills and confidence so that they ultimately can contribute to the development of a highly skilled academic health and social care research workforce in Wales.
