Are you an experienced operations professional with a passion for logistics and customer service? We are seeking a Courier Manager to join a dynamic team at the Head Office of a multi-national organisation based in Hereford. In this pivotal role, you will manage all third-party carriers and associated contracts, ensuring compliance and excellence in service delivery across the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with teams to implement operational changes and processes for new carriers and services.
2. Oversee contract management and ensure compliance for both new and existing carriers.
3. Prepare and participate in regular business reviews, including MBRs and QBRs.
4. Generate carrier Service Level Agreement (SLA) and compliance reports.
5. Submit and manage carrier claims and service-level penalties effectively.
6. Authorise all carrier invoices, conducting thorough investigations into any surcharges.
7. Review carrier routing options to optimise both service and costs.
8. Create and maintain comprehensive reporting and analysis to enhance carrier performance insights.
9. Analyse operational efficiency across UK and European networks, pinpointing areas for service improvement and cost reduction.
10. Work collaboratively with internal teams, especially the Customer Contact team, to integrate customer feedback and enhance the overall experience.
Essential Skills & Experience
1. Proven experience in an operational management role within the courier/logistics sector, preferably in a fast-growing environment.
2. Strong understanding of large-scale B2C parcel networks.
3. Data-driven decision-maker with insights that enhance customer experiences.
4. Excellent problem-solver, adept at navigating ambiguous and dynamic challenges.
5. Strong planning and organisational skills, with a track record of delivering cross-functional projects with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Exceptional negotiation skills.
7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
8. Analytical mindset with a passion for data manipulation; skilled in using data visualisation to identify trends and drive actionable insights.
