The role?
An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a Lifting Superintendent to join EnerMech on the UK's Low Carbon Nuclear project based in Bridgwater, Somerset. The role is a permanent day shift position. You will report to the Lifting Manager.
You will be responsible for;
* Oversight of all sites lifting activities ensuring work is carried out in accordance with approved lift plans using certified lifting personnel, equipment, and accessories.
* Report to the Lifting Engineers, providing support/technical input as required.
* Personally engaging with the workforce and consult with the workers about their health, safety and welfare.
* Assist in contractor audits to ensure adherence to standards.
* Carry out inspections (Insight) of lifting operations, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with approved lift plans (SSOW) using certified lifting personnel, equipment, and accessories.
* Stop any lifting operation from occurring if they have any concerns over the safety of the lift.
* Identify lifting issues at site level and report using the Insight system.
* Monitor all variations to lifting documentations, ensuring that they are reviewed/approved by the required individuals prior to the task commencing.
You are?
To be successful for this position you will have the following;
* Previous supervisory role in Lifting operations – essential.
* NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) Moving loads or Erecting (Ace card).
* CPCS A61 Appointed Persons Blue/red card or APML TAP01 – preferred.
* Extensive experience of following Safe Systems of Work in relation to lifting operations.
* Strong communicator, both written and verbally.
* Good knowledge of large projects and site operations.
* Knowledge of HSE standards including: CDM Regulations, LOLER, BS7121.
* Working knowledge of MS Office.
* Strong leadership skills.
