Working Pattern: Permanent - Flexible First options available The Role: Medway Power Station are recruiting an Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team. This is a critical role in our efforts to decarbonize our energy generation through emerging CCS and hydrogen solutions, helping the station meet its net-zero goals while providing flexible, essential power. Reporting to the Daywork Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining electrical apparatus and equipment to high standards, ensuring maximum plant availability and reliability. You Will: - Carry out both planned and emergent works on all electrical assets at Medway Power Station, implementing Safe Systems of Work. - Produce Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safety Plans to ensure safe work practices. - Manage plant breakdown maintenance and supervising contractor workers when required. - Diagnose faults, identifying plant improvements, and enhancing overall plant reliability and efficiency. - Proactively promote and engage with the company's safety culture to ensure all team members go home safely each day. You Have: - An Electrical Apprenticeship or HNC in Electrical Engineering - Knowledge or experience in CCGT Power Plant Maintenance, or a relevant background in another process industry. - Broad understanding of Health and Safety at work; an IOSH or NEBOSH certificate would be advantageous. - Additional electrical qualifications such as City and Guilds 2391 (Periodic Inspection and Testing) and C&G2382 (BS7671 Wiring Regulations) are desirable. - Experience maintaining electrical apparatus and machinery, including HV and LV switchgear, motors (AC/DC), motorised actuators, motor starters, and power transformers (advantageous).
