An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist or suitably trained and experienced Counselling or Forensic Psychologist to join our residential Learning Disabilities and Autism service primarily based at Hollyhurst in Darlington. You will also support the Assistant Psychologist at our Cygnet Oaklands, Hexham site.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership, support staff development, and seek opportunities to support their own professional development. Importantly, the post holder will become part of a thriving and supportive staff team at the service.
Cygnet Hollyhurst:
Hollyhurst as a service is currently undergoing a period of restructuring, with a view to accepting individuals with complex mental health difficulties, and whom may have forensic histories. As such, the successful candidate will be joining at an exciting time where therapeutic input, developing and delivering groups, alongside providing staff training will become a large part of the role.
Your Day-to-Day
The post holder will provide clinical leadership and supervision to the Assistant Psychologists, lead on Positive Behaviour Support approaches, undertake specialist behavioural assessments, and offer consultation and training to the wider team.
Though primarily based at Hollyhurst, Darlington, the successful candidate will also provide supervision to the full-time Assistant Psychologist based at Cygnet Oaklands, Hexham, where there will be opportunities to provide bespoke clinical input based on clinical need.
We are looking for someone who is:
* A HCPC registered Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist
* Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical, and DBT
* Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs
* Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending, and drug & alcohol problems.
