We work from a range of therapeutic models such as DBT, MBT, CFT, CBT, ISTDP, ACT, and CAT.
We have a fantastic psychologically minded and compassionate collective leadership team in Telford and Wrekin CMHS, and a supportive Psychology presence within the Shropshire Telford and Wrekin Care Group, regular psychology meetings to keep everyone informed of developments as well as excellent training.
Doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology that are in the final year of placement are also welcome to apply for this post.
Main duties of the job
* To provide specialist psychology assessment, one-to-one and group interventions to clients experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues that meet Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements, and user and carer needs and expectations.
* To support the development and implementation of systemic interventions, including reflective practice groups with the team, psychology consultations, teaching and training, and brief interventions for the carers/families of clients that access our services.
* To utilise opportunities for reflection and the continuing development of your own skills.
* To work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of MPFT's policies and procedures.
* The post holder will be responsible for adhering to relevant Trust policies and professional ethics.
* To employ research skills for audit, policy, service evaluation, and development.
* To work with inpatients, outpatients, staff of primary care and various secondary care mental health services, and third sector organisations where required.

Shortlisting Criteria
* Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
* Significant post qualification experience of specialist psychological assessment, individual and group-based treatment of clients with complex difficulties across adult secondary and/or tertiary care settings. (for 8a post)
* Experience of working in Adult Secondary Mental Health services (for Preceptorship)
Shortlisting
* Additional qualifications in an accredited therapy
* Experience of working with clients with personality difficulties/complex trauma/psychosis/comorbid substance misuse issues
* Experience and/or training in providing supervision
