The Role:
As a learning support assistant you will be required to support pupils with additional needs to promote their learning and development in a school setting. Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will be to provide general classroom support whilst delivering high quality interventions be it in small groups or 1:1 basis. You will need to be able to deal well in high pressured situations in a calm and professional manner whilst nurturing each pupils needs. You must be resilient and strong and be able to de-escelate any challenging behaviour. Qualifications GCSE or A-Level qualifications or equivalent are required, qualifications relevant to the job are desirable but not required.
The school:
Teaching Personnel are recruting for a variety of provisions across Lancashire, including primary, secondary, SEN and SEMH schools. The class sizes are usually small between 6-10 pupils per class. All children have an EHC and have additional needs that require further support both in their learning and overall development. Whilst they do require extra support the school does try to promote its pupils to become independent learners, in an environment in which all pupil’s efforts and achievements can be celebrated. The school put communication and positive relationships high on their list of priorities and promote close working relationships with their children’s families.
Please note, we are an Education Supply agency and all of our work starts off on a temporary basis, with a view to onto a permnent school contract!
