Key Responsibilities: Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students within the unit. Provide one-to-one support to students who may require additional assistance, ensuring their unique learning needs are met. Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing student behaviour effectively and fostering a supportive atmosphere. Work closely with teachers to plan and implement effective teaching strategies, adapting to the varied learning styles and abilities of students. Assist in the preparation and organisation of teaching materials, ensuring that resources are accessible and conducive to a productive learning environment. Regularly assess and report on student progress, collaborating with teachers to identify areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions. Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional and academic development. Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student support. Support the integration of students with diverse needs into mainstream education settings, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting inclusivity. Requirements: Experience working with students with challenging behaviour (preferred). Strong ability to engage and motivate students with varied needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people. Experience in supporting students in Maths and English is desirable.
