Morley and District Primary Care Network are recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to join our Team covering a maternity period.
This is a new and exciting role, and will help shape and form the layout of our local healthcare offer in Morley, Leeds.
The suitable candidate should be passionate about making a difference in primary care and enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team across services.
Duties will include dealing with prescription queries, synchronisation of repeat medications, processing discharge summaries/clinic letters, supporting project development of the services, undertaking clinical audits and promoting best prescribing practice within the surgeries where they are based. The post holder will work as part of a growing team of health care professionals across the seven practices in Morley and District to deliver health and medicines optimisation interventions at a neighbourhood population level.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will be expected to take a lead role in supporting the PCN Pharmacy Team and our member practices.
The role will be based at a variety of locations across the Morley and District PCN area, plus some of the work may be based in Care Home settings over the next few years.

Job responsibilities
1. To provide comprehensive, innovative, and professional administration support to the PCN Directors to assist the PCN in meeting its short and long-term objectives of primary care networks.
2. To understand the PCN Network DES and assist the development/implementation of services to meet its requirements.
3. To support workforce development with the ARRS workforce.
4. To assist in ensuring best practice is followed in maintaining both professional and clinical standards.
5. To work with the PCN Directors in close partnership with clinical leaders to deliver quality service, performance targets and KPIs.
6. To assist in ensuring effective governance is in place to ensure quality, safety and manage risk.
7. To collate accurate data on time and in accordance to GDPR to assist the PCN in meeting its targets.
8. Support with reconciliation of remittances, payments and invoices into the PCN.
9. Support with ARRS claims, expenses, and associated costs.
10. Keeping up to date the Finance Tracker and being knowledgeable about each line of income and expenditure.
11. Supporting on claims, bid writing and costing services, as required.
12. Reconciliation and payments to Practices - as well as tracking invoices vs shifts, delivery etc.
13. Supporting vaccination programs and practice/PCN reconciliation.
14. Taking minutes of meetings, and sharing/circulating.
15. Organising meetings, interviews and huddles and collating agendas, minute tasking.
16. Supporting action logs and ensuring actions are completed.
17. Record keeping, and organisation of shared files to ensure good governance.
18. Organising Inductions, managing new starters programs, working with HEE accordingly, seeking development opportunities for individuals and associated funding applications and management.
19. Support in reading, summarising and sharing information.
20. Supporting vaccination programs and practice/PCN reconciliation and rotas.
21. Liaising with Practice Managers, GPs, and Clinical Director to ensure meetings and effective communication.
22. Supporting Searches for IIF and QOF elements as well as the PCN DES.
23. Contract management.
24. Writing SOPs, service flows and Protocols.
25. Daily, checking appointment books are loaded in relevant practices as per rota.
26. Managing ARRS team rota and identifying issues in the future or gaps to be filled. Work to fill gaps.
27. Managing invoices from and to Practices.
28. Checking and approving overtime for ARRS team.
29. Ensuring all slots in appointment books are filled on a daily basis. Escalating empty slot issues accordingly.
30. Managing issues as they arise against the minimum requirements of the contract, for example dipping below minimum expected hours.
31. Completing any returns as required by NHSE and the CCG/ICS.
32. Becoming an expert on SystmOne appointment books, cross organisational booking and reporting.
33. Supporting online access.
Skills
* Excel must be competent on Excel, in keeping data up to date, using basic formulas, pivot tables and being able to digest and articulate the meaning of data.
* Articulate and diplomatic working with multiple stakeholders you must be able to manage expectations and drive forward the shared PCN agenda, in line with Board and management agreement.
* Confidentiality you will have access to and be supporting the PCN Directors in effective running of the PCN and associated services, therefore you may have access to confidential information.
* Resilient able to work with ambiguity, tricky relationships and conflicting needs.
* MS teams and other Office products.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent with underpinning knowledge.
* Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Post-registration training in specific areas of pharmacy e.g. care homes, or clinical areas e.g. inhaler check training.
Experience
* Minimum 2 years experience in a busy pharmacy setting.
* Significant post-registration experience in any pharmacy sector e.g. hospital, community pharmacy or primary care.
* Genuine interest in working with the elderly.
