The Accounts Semi-Senior Role: As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will play a crucial role in preparing financial statements in compliance with relevant financial reporting standards. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing financial statements from source documents/records to final accounts for review by the appropriate manager. Creating accounting schedules to support the balances and transactions included in the financial statements. Adhering to proper accounting standards and working on a diverse range of accounts. Effectively managing time to ensure that jobs are finished within budget and meeting deadlines. Developing and maintaining good client relations, resolving queries and obtaining necessary information. Providing a high level of service to meet client expectations. Making timely recommendations in relation to accounting matters, financial reporting, and accounting systems. Additional Accounts Semi-Senior Responsibilities: Assisting with bookkeeping, VAT return preparation. Preparing control account reconciliations and other month-end procedures. Preparing quarterly management accounts for onward submission to clients. The Ideal Accounts Semi-Senior Candidate: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: AAT Level 3 or 4, or ACA studier. Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts preparation within a practice environment. Strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation within a practice environment. Strong double-entry knowledge and skill. Cloud-based accounting systems knowledge including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks. Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel, for the production of letters and spreadsheets. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic tax knowledge - awareness of how to do tax computations, PAYE, VAT. Accuracy, organisational, and time management skills. Confident when dealing with clients and expressing your views.
