A Contract Management team will be established within the procurement department that will have the responsibility to ensure contract management will take place for the Trust's contracts. The team will consist of a Senior Contract Manager and a Contract Manager.
This role is for the Contract Manager who will get the opportunity to manage a portfolio of contracts for the Trust. The role is new and gives a candidate the opportunity to develop the position within the frame of the job description. The role will be rewarding as contract management in the Trust is in its infancy and you will be involved in developing a professional function.
Main duties of the job
The person fulfilling the role will, together with the Senior Contract Manager, provide a professional Contract support service and develop the role from scratch. The tasks will be to study the contracts and to establish a programme of management meetings together with the contract owners in the divisions. The role is a supporting function but will be responsible for successful contract management by ensuring supplier performance is discussed and the contracts shall deliver value for money. From the contract management, the contract manager can play a role in establishing new contracts by giving input on the contract management element of a new contract.
The role will have reporting duties on contract performance and will have to work in established contract databases to add relevant information on contract management.

Education and Qualifications
* Graduate Diploma in Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience.

* Contract Management experience, e.g., effective use of KPI and Contract Management Meetings, knowledge of common practice throughout the industry, Procurement Legislation, NHS conditions of contract, and use of electronic tools for Contract Management.

* Accomplished at using the full range of available software packages, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
* Experience in contract management to drive value for money from contracts in the portfolio.
* NHS experience at senior management level.
* Proven track record of performance management.
