Location: Partner School in Bradford, West Yorkshire
Contract: Full-time, January Start, Fixed Term until the End of the Academic Year
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role:
Veritas Education is proud to partner with a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Bradford. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Officer to join their supportive team from January until the end of the academic year.
This role is integral to ensuring a positive learning environment by supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, promoting positive behaviour, and fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and school life.
Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies and action plans.
Manage challenging behaviours calmly and effectively, using restorative approaches to conflict resolution.
Act as a role model, promoting resilience, self-regulation, and positive interpersonal relationships.
Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate.
Contribute to creating a safe and inclusive school environment for all students.About You:
To be successful in this role, you will:
Have prior experience working with young people, ideally those with SEMH needs, in an educational or youth work setting.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
Be resilient, empathetic, and committed to making a positive difference in students' lives.
Have strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting.
