The Public Rights of Way and Access Service is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with an interest in public rights of way to join our expanding and busy dedicated team. This is a full-time permanent role which supports our Definitive Map and Maintenance teams, as well as our promotion and coastal path officers, working with the Public Rights of Way and Access Manager to improve and develop the service.
About the Role
Based at Lincolnshire Archives, Lincoln, with flexible hybrid working, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining GIS datasets, including the digitisation and georeferencing of historic records and maintenance of the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way. You will be responsible for developing and implementing improved processes for document management and assisting with the development of metrics, Key Performance Indicators, and dashboard systems. You will manage the general stock of materials, undertaking procurement, tender, and stock-control accounting activities as necessary to support maintenance and improvement projects and provide day-to-day support to the team to deliver the priorities of the service.
You will need to have an understanding of and apply legislation and regulations relating to Procurement and to the Definitive Map and Statement. You’ll be a good communicator, confident in answering general questions to a variety of people and organisations, including members of the public, applicants, landowners, agents, consultants, solicitors, elected Members, and colleagues.
You will demonstrate excellent administrative, analytical, and IT skills, and particularly have experience working with GIS mapping systems, database systems, and business intelligence systems such as PowerBI. You will have the ability to work independently and manage your own workload, and be able to work across the County to undertake fieldwork where required.
Ideally, you will be educated to a level 3 qualification and/or have previous experience in relevant fields. Due to the specialist nature of the work, mentoring will be given to the successful applicant. You will need to hold a full valid driving license and have access to a vehicle. Mileage will be paid.
