We have a superb opportunity for an experienced part-time Bookkeeper. Approximately 30, flexible hours per week where you will mostly work from home with occasional travel to our clients’ premises in Theale, Reading.

As Bookkeeper the main duties are as follows:
Daily
1. Check bank account regularly and allocate credits received
2. Answer Emails
3. Invoice as required
4. Cancel monitoring connections as necessary
5. Chase Debtors – 2 main chaser days but on-going throughout the month
6. Deal with Reminders on Outlook
7. Download Parking Receipts and enter on Sage
8. Enter Fuel purchases on Sage
9. Verify and Pay Expenses for Office and Engineers
10. Agree Supplier Invoices to Stock POs and enter on Sage
11. Keep list of Returned items and ensure credits received
12. Record Resets on Sage from Scutum Reports
13. Reconcile supplier statements
14. Update Lost & Gained Spreadsheets
15. Keep Parking Apps and Congestion Account up to date
16. Keep van records (Driver/mileage) up to date
17. Book Vans for Service/MOT/Repair when due. Advise Insurers re van changes
18. Keep Lottery account spreadsheet up to date
19. Download daily tracker reports and note private miles
Weekly
20. Send batch Invoices
21. Back Up Sage data x 3 companies
22. Attend meetings with the company directors
Monthly
23. Run renewal Invoices after checking list against client sites for any anomalies/POs required etc, Uplift charges and amend those not to be increased
24. Check Sage for Resets given and invoice
25. Reconcile 4 x bank Statements to Sage
26. Reconcile and pay With Credit Card Statements
27. Complete Financial Report and Cashflow
28. Advise on and input Payroll figures and paying employees
29. Download monthly tracker report
30. Attend Figures Meeting
Additionally
31. Twice monthly pay suppliers and send Remittance Advices
32. Quarterly VAT – check Return, submit to HMRC and reconcile on Sage x 3 companies
33. Attend Board meeting
34. 6-monthlyPay Tax to HMRC
Annually
35. Agree annual fees with Director
36. Ensure Confirmation Statements x 3 submitted to Companies House
37. Calculate winnings to be paid from Lottery account
38. Year End procedure x 3 companies – follow check list,
39. Pay Corporation Tax
40. Produce Budget and cashflow for coming year
41. Insurance – Complete Estimate for coming year to get Quotes/Reports for Directors to agree
42. Complete and submit Year End Declaration
43. Fleet (November) – get Quotes for Directors to agree
44. Electricity – Get quotes for contract renewal and approve with Directors
45. Mobiles – Get quotes for renewal
About you
To be successful for the role of Bookkeeper, you must have / be:
46. Bookkeeping / general accounts experience
47. Great communication and interpersonal skills
48. Experienced in the use of SAGE line 50
About the rewards
The role of Bookkeeper is a part time role and largely home based however, you would need to attend some meetings at the company office, so you should live within easy access of Theale.
