Reporting to the financial controller, as the assistant financial controller you will contribute to the production of key financial reports, assist with month-end procedures, and make a difference in improving financial efficiencies across the business. What You’ll Be Doing: Financial Reporting: Assist with monthly and year-end reporting to stakeholders, ensuring all financial requirements are met in a timely manner. Month-End Procedures: Prepare month-end journals, including prepayments and accruals, while supporting the wider team during the month-end process. Collaborate with External Accountants: Work closely with external accountants on tax compliance and audit requirements. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure accuracy in balance sheet reconciliations and identify opportunities for process efficiencies. Cross-Department Communication: Collaborate with operational teams to highlight financial risks and opportunities for driving efficiencies. Board Pack Preparation: Help prepare the Board Packs and relevant content for senior management. Supplier Payments & Cash Flow Awareness: Ensure suppliers are paid promptly and maintain awareness of cash flow reporting. Process Improvements: Play a vital role in improving processes within the finance department and across the company. This role is a great fit for someone who wants to get involved in a variety of tasks, from regular accounting duties to project-based work that will allow you to leave your mark on the team’s operations. What We’re Looking For: Experience: You should have at least 3 years of experience working within a finance department. Professional Qualification: You should be part-qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or working towards achieving a professional qualification. Proficiency in Finance Tools: You’ll need to be proficient in Sage 200 and advanced in Microsoft Excel. Financial Reporting & Controls Knowledge: You should understand the best practices for financial controls and have a solid grasp of financial reporting.
