Living Potential Care Farming is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce for staff and volunteers. We actively encourage applications from the global majority (also referred to as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates in the UK) as they are under-represented within Living Potential and within the farming, outdoor and nature-based activities sectors.
Our Activity Coaches work primarily with our core team members in either a group or one-to-one basis and lead pre-planned activities based around animal care, horticulture, catering, and arts and crafts. Bushcraft/forest school and other nature-based activities, as well as farm maintenance, are also carried out. We are working to showcase community regenerative farming in action and have several bases to work from, all set on a 500-acre working farm – no day is the same!
We also have an opening for an experienced practitioner to work with our calm@thefarm group every second Saturday. Our vision is to create a space where neurodivergent young people feel safe and welcome, away from the hustle and bustle of normal life – a space where they can thrive and be completely themselves. No diagnosis is needed. Our aim is that the group is guided and developed by the young people.
To be successful in the job you need:
1. An interest and commitment to supporting those with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues, challenging behaviour, or complex needs.
2. Experience in leading or supporting the delivery of learning activities or skills instruction.
3. Experience or a strong interest in at least one area of our programme activity, e.g., farming, small animal care, horticulture, arts and crafts, or catering, bushcraft/forest school.
This role works directly with vulnerable adults, and as such, all job holders will be required to undergo and pass enhanced background checks. Living Potential is committed to staff wellbeing and offers pensions and a good annual leave package.
We are very happy to show you around so you can see the beautiful site and meet some animals. We can chat informally about the role.
