We are seeking multiple tutors within the Cambridge area to work with young people aged between 5-16. Here at TP Tutors, we work closely with local authorities providing tuition to young people who are out of mainstream education for various reasons, such as SEN needs, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, and Lower Learning Levels. Our aim is to provide high-quality, impactful 1:1 tuition for these young people!
Job Description:
As a Tutor, you will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to young people in a 1:1 setting up to a 1:6 setting. Your duties will include preparing and delivering lessons both face-to-face and online, depending on your preference. You will assess students and track progress, identify gaps in their learning, and adapt a variety of teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
Job Duties:
1. Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education.
2. Delivering engaging and interactive lessons in line with the students' individual education plans.
3. Assessing students' progress and adjusting teaching techniques accordingly.
4. Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
5. Completing a detailed report after each session, outlining learning objectives, engagement, and comprehension.
Required Qualifications:
1. Have QTS or be a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or have SEN/SEMH experience.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to tailor teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
1. A relevant degree in Education or a related field.
2. Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH.
3. Knowledge of different learning disabilities and strategies to support them.
4. Strong organisational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs.
2. Experience in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
3. Training in specific interventions such as Makaton or TEACCH.
