Our client is one of the leading egg suppliers to the Irish market, based in the province of Ulster. They grade and pack eggs for major retailers and brand owners. The company is accredited with the Bord Bia Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme, Bord Bia’s Origin Green, BRC A, and Organic certification.
Opportunity:
This individual will work as part of our client’s existing Maintenance team, ensuring the smooth running of equipment on site through routine maintenance & repair, as required.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain all machinery by keeping it well-oiled and adhering to the maintenance schedule.
* Ensure Ink-jet printers, Rationales, and Barcode printers are in optimal working condition, producing legible prints.
* Keep adequate spare parts for all machinery on hand.
* Be ON CALL during grading hours for emergency breakdowns.
* Maintain the building in good repair, including lights, walls, and ceilings.
* Keep the refrigeration system clean and in good working order.
* Participate in both in-house and external role development and training.
* Conduct daily checks on machinery throughout the plant.
* Swiftly and safely address all breakdowns.
* Perform servicing and maintenance efficiently, safely, and hygienically.
* Implement and adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule.
* Ensure that maintenance records are accurately completed.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
* Ensure staff compliance with the company’s Health & Safety policy.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge and experience in a food manufacturing environment an advantage, but not essential.
* Ability to work effectively in a team, with the ability to follow directions.
* Capability to challenge others professionally and constructively.
* Understanding of environmental requirements and responsibilities.
* Good understanding of machinery operations.
* Enjoyment of a fast-paced, demanding production environment.
* Positive, 'can-do' attitude and problem-solving skills under pressure.
* Flexibility regarding shift work.
* Beneficial skills: TIG welding, Plumbing, or Mechanical fields.
Working hours:
* Maintenance core hours are 8 am to 4:15 pm Monday to Friday, however, you are expected to be co-operative in working outside these hours if necessary.
* Maintenance employees are required to one Saturday per month from 8 am-4.15 pm in rotation with the other maintenance staff. In busier seasons Sunday work may also become available.
* Public Holidays – Maintenance staff are required to work Public Holidays in rotation with the other maintenance staff.
