You’ll be at the centre of a friendly, close-knit, and passionate team of staff and volunteers who look after this special site and share it with the public. You’ll be part of Newark’s leadership team and will be one of the duty managers. You’ll lead the team of conservation volunteers. With our atmosphere of informality and hospitality, there’s lots of opportunity to use your creativity and energy to continue to develop our presentation standards in the house. The team is currently updating its interpretation and presentation, and this postholder will be involved with helping to deliver the presentation plan for Newark House, working alongside the curators. As the Collections and House Officer, you’ll be responsible for the conservation of the collection and house at Newark Park. Reporting to the Property Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for routine conservation, preventive conservation and the annual programme of deep cleaning. Your attention and expertise will help to ensure excellent standards of care throughout the house. You'll collect and record information gathered during cleaning and housekeeping to improve our knowledge and understanding of the house and all that’s in it.
