Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 74 year old lady living in the Mountain Ash area, I have a large family 2 daughters, 1 son and 6 grandchildren.
I have been diagnosed with Parkinson which is progressing, I am immobile and partial sighted.
In my early years I use to be a carer for people with mental health disabilities, I also worked as a dinner lady in the local school. I enjoy watching documentaries, Judge Judy and big bang theory and spending time with my family.
I am seeking a personal assistant to support me in my home, I have a hoist which my family used to transport me on my commode, and to and from my bed/chair.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To support and assist in the home.
PLACE OF WORK
In the home
HOURS OF WORK
14 hours a week.
4 calls a day
(Morning call 1 hour, 2x15 minute in afternoons, 30 minute in the evening)
RATE OF PAY
£13.50
TASKS INVOLVED
Help to get out of bed.
Freshen up with a wash.
Toileting assistant with the commode.
Administration of Medication.
Preparing breakfast.
Occasionally heating up meals.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A reliable and punctual person.
Someone who is chatty and bubbly.
A sensible and mature attitude.
Someone who respects the needs and privacy of my home.
Female required due to the personal care involved.
A Confident and Proactive approach.
Experienced preferred but full Training will be provided
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
